Welcome to Emerald Coast Kids!!!

Hello! I'm Janette, a proud mommy to 3 crazy kids ( 6, 4 1/2, and almost 3) with #4 coming at the beginning of September! Yes, we definitely stay busy in our house!! My family has been living in the local area since the beginning of 2004 and we love it here! I truly believe it is an awesome place to raise a family and you surely can't complain about the beautiful weather! We currently live in the Crestview area, but spend alot of our weekends in Fort Walton Beach and Destin enjoying all that our area has to offer. Unfortunately, when I moved here, I had to learn and discover things the hard way.... I had no clue where to go for a good show on the 4th of July, who a good doctor was to see when I got pregnant with my daughter, and after having kids I had no idea where to go for different activities, mom groups, and extracurricular things like sports, dance, and gymnastics. So that's where this blog comes into play... I want this to be a resource for families of all kinds to help you find many kinds of family friendly activities in our local area. It will be a slow start in the beginning, but eventually this WILL be the "place to go when you need to know" LOL

I will be sharing our day and weekend trips each week, a Guide to Dining on the Coast, and each Friday I will be posting a "Weekend Roundup" filled with many family friendly events that you can participate in. Each week, I will also be doing a "Preschool at Home" post that will consist of activities, printables, and crafts that you can do with your young ones at home. I am in the progress of compiling a Spring/Summer Fun for Kids post, which will consist of summer camps, VBS, you-pick orchards, Florida's free meals locations, and much more. I plan to have that finished around the end of April/beginning of May, so you can plan your summers accordingly.

I also have LOTS of ideas planned for the future, such as:
*Preschool/Daycare/VPK Directory for each city
*Doctor/Pediatrician Recommendations/Reviews- (with your help of course)
*Moms/Dads groups
*Gyms/Fitness info for each city
*Consignment Sales
*Monthly Events Calendar (color coded according to your city)
*Theatre Showtimes
*Fall/Winter Fun Guide (pumpkin patches, corn mazes, festivals, etc.)

As you can see, I have lots planned for this and I'm really excited about how great this could potentially be for us!! So bear with me as I get this up and rolling...

Please feel free to email me at emeraldcoastkids@gmail.com if you have any questions, suggestions, ideas, info, whatever... I'm always up for ideas and would LOVE to hear from my readers!! I hope everyone is having a GREAT week!!

Also, feel free to "follow us on Facebook", all of my posts will be linked there as well since sometimes it's easier to see when there is a new post up in your news feed!
